Programme opportunities with pets
The Tisza Balneum Hotel is situated directly on the shores of Lake Tisza, in an incomparable natural environment. The hotel services allow you to balance body, mind and soul. You don't have to leave your pet alone during your rest, our Platan Restaurant terrace is pet-friendly. For an evening ball game, we recommend the small forest next to the parking area.
Boat trips and fishing can be a great activity for both parties. All of the town's harbours allow pets and most guides welcome four-legged friends in their boats. Szabics Harbour also has two hiking trails: the Tiszavirág Ártéri Walking Trail and the Örvény Pákász Trail, which can provide a pleasant hiking experience.
The Mancsos Pancsoló dogbeach located 1.5 km from the hotel, features a dog beach and a mini agility track.
The destination of adventure with the dog can be the canopy path in Karcag, the fish staircase in Kisköre, the arboretum in Tiszaigar or, in case of better weather, the Hortobágy National Park, which can provide unforgettable experiences. During the excursion to Hortobágy you can explore the fish pond system on foot or by train, whose diverse bird life, reed beds and plank rows are eye-catching. During your visit, you can also visit the Puszta Animal Park in Hortobágy with your pet.
For sports lovers, we recommend a bike-dog ride around the lake with a dog carrier that can be tied up after the bike, with lots of stops, preferably in cooler weather. The cycle path around Lake Tisza is also the perfect place to run with your dog. If your pet also enjoys the aquatic life, you can take our hotel canoe for a pleasant paddle.
Presentations on responsible animal husbandry
Our hotel is closely connected with the Foundation for Animals in Trouble and Dr. Gábor Koska Veterinary Clinic.
As part of this cooperation, we have been organising colourful programmes with our MóKaland Playhouse for years, including a series of lectures on responsible animal husbandry. Our aim is to raise the awareness of our Guests, especially the youngest ones, about the importance of responsible animal husbandry. A popular four-legged participant in the series is Clifford the Labrador, who will give a colourful presentation for children with his owner, Hedvig Koska.
Within the framework of the programme, we usually:
- discuss the general characteristics of the dog;
- place great emphasis on teaching about the everyday needs of animals
- showing what to do when you meet a strange dog (Clifford will help you with this);
- talk about diseases and their prevention (rabies, heartworm, babesia, etc.);
- mention the importance of helping orphaned animals and animal welfare.
At the end of the presentation, all children will receive a "certificate" and can have their photo taken with Clifford!
In 2021, our hotel also hosted the "Dogs 'n Nature" charity event, which has become a tradition at the end of August, where participants could listen to interesting presentations about animal welfare and dog ownership, and then they can walk for orphaned animals.

Since its launch in 2014, the Dog Friendly Place of the Year campaign has become more successful every year thanks to the spread of the dog-friendly philosophy.
