Kiss Pál Museum
Tiszafüred
The Kiss Pál Museum is a neoclassical mansion built by the Lipcsey family in the first half of the 19th century, which has a beautiful park with ancient trees and a prime location for tourism in Lake Tisza's capital, Tiszafüred.
The institution is one of the oldest rural museums in the country and celebrated its 140th birthday in 2017. The museum currently houses an archaeological, ethnographic and ice-age exhibition as part of its permanent collection.
The Nyúzó Gáspár Fazekas Country House is a museum in the oldest farmhouse in the town, a traditional structure and construction, which was declared a folk monument in 1975.
It commemorates the pottery with a long tradition in Tiszafüred. The 19th-century country house, furnished with original furniture and tools, shows visitors the living and working conditions of Gáspár Nyúzó the younger and the older master potter. Entering from the neoclassical porch, visitors can learn about the period's domestic culture, household chores, costumes, customs and pottery work in the atrium, the clean room and the back room-workshop.
